On the bank holiday Monday me and my family decided to go down for a bite to eat on the way in we meet the manager walking around the fronth of the pub with a coffee in one hand and fag in the other , went in pick up a menu sat there for 10 mins , I tought we had mistakenly fitted our invisible suits on because the manager came in stood talking to a few customers at the bar seen us waiting but no still left us there , so we got up and left went into the side door restaurant where we had fantastic meal , it's a pity because the derragarra is our local and I would like to support local business but it's being managed very badly can't figure it ????

I was in the Derragarra Inn recently and had a steak, which was perfectly cooked, unlike previous times as other reviewer said, I think because of the new management, under chef Richard Corrigan, as he seems to have turn this place in to the place it should be, clean, pretty and more, great for sunday lunch also

I've been eating here every month or so for the last 6 years.
Fantastic home cooked food and a damn good t-bone & sirloin. Still a ways to go to beat the Monasterboice though.
The chef doesn't understand the difference between rare, medium-rare or well as they all come out medium well but wherever they source their prime rib from deserves a mention because it is always very delicious and their mashed spuds are to die for.
Service is generally top notch but today was fantastic. There are a couple of really good seating arrangements that are just perfect in this olde world bar that actually is olde world without trying but they are a secret. Anyway they will cater for your party whatever the seating arrangement. Love this place - have done since I passed it as a boy peering out the car window wondering why there is a women and donkey with turf on the roof.
Enjoy, Marc.
