Had dinner on Sunday evening. The restaurant was packed and we waited for an hour for a table. The food was top class and the staff as usual did a great job.It was well worth the wait.

I strongly disagree with the above comment. Myself, my husband and our two young children visited today for lunch.
The staff were most helpful and friendly, service and food were top class and we were made to feel most welcome in the warm and family friendly atmosphere they provide. We all had soft drinks with our meal and they were not poured from a large bottle.
I had lamb as my main course and the meat was cooked to perfection, the veg was lovely and fresh and the portion size was most generous. My husband has special diet requirements and these were met with no problems or fuss.
I would strongly reccomend The Monasterboice inn as a place to eat.

went there last sunday for lunch was a joke arrived at 12.30 was left stting there tll nearly 1pm before i had to go and look for a menu. again after another 15 minutes had to ask for someone to take our order, we ordered drinks and found tht the club orange was poured from a large bottle butwas charged pub rates for a glass bottle.
staff unhelpful and the manager was really rude.
left without any lunch and would not recommend monasterboice inn as a place to eat..
