This is the worst food I ever had in my entire life. We were 4 of us on weekend break last week (Friday 6/5/2011) so we asked the hotel reception that we stayed where is the best restaurant around here and they said West Lake Palace is the best chinese restaurant and take away around here, we even checked online for the review 3/5 it was. We were so looking forward to try out the food when we got back to the hotel. What's a load of rubbish this food were, we ordered special szechuan with fried rice, 2 portions of hot chicken wings (only 5 chicken wings each box), special with chilli and garlic with fried noodle, crispy squid with fried rice and a satay sauce. The total was around 60 euro.
Special with chilli and garlic colour, look and taste are the same like special szechuan are no taste and not even little spicy. Chicken wings was too oily and had only little meat on it. Fried rice was so pale, too much MSG (even thought the have a notice note on the wall say "We don't use MSG on our food even thought it maybe contain a small amount of MSG) and smelled weird. Fried noodle was too dark and salty. Satay sauce was too sweet, oily and not even feel spicy.
The worst one is crispy chilli squid: oily, soft like it had never been deep fried before, the squid not even cooked yet but the vegetable with it is over cooked.
We given this place 0.000/10. The chef of this place is a joke to us, he can't cook for sure and the people who think and say this place is the best in town, they dont know anything about foods and specially chinese food. I guess there is no other chinese take away/restaurant in this area that why there are no compertition here. If it was in dublin. This place will be close in less than a week. I feel sorry for killarney people who are eating here. They dont know anything about chinese food.
