This was a fantastic meal and location
The staff were friendly efficient and professional
The food was perfect we both were very pleased with the starters main and the desserts
The atmosphere in the bar was also great.
We will be back -- eventhough it's a long way to Tipperary we won't mind.
Thanks

As a food enthusiast who travels around quite often, I must admit that the best food I get that is consistently good and of good value is closer to home in The Helm. There's good parking and good views outside and a nice walk for before or after your meal. The pub itself has a fairly relaxed atmosphere and the staff are always friendly and nice. There's certainly not many other places I have been to that I can compliment the staff as much as The Helm. The food is consistently nice, the meals retain their consistent quality and I can easily say it's the top restaurant that I've been to in Ireland. Even as late as last week I was there for lunch and I had a steak sandwich and it was just perfect. The one warning I'll give is the restaurant is quite busy so don't expect to hang on to your table for the night!

The Helm is one of the nicest restaurants in Westport. Located beside the Quays in a wonderful setting. Always a few people there, popular with locals and visitors alike. The fish dishes are some of the best I have ever tasted. Never disappoints.

The Helm Restaurant at the Quays in Westport serves the most wonderful bar food. The staff are very friendly and there is always a great atmosphere. The lunch is lovely and fresh, but it is really good with a few friends in the evening. The fish is exceptional at the Helm. They get a lot of visitors there as the name is good and there are several hotels closeby. Very enjoyable.

Best lunch in Westport. Ideally located beside thew Quays. We had the best fish in the area. The owner also takes people on Clew Bay for fishing trips. Maybe next time. Great location, with great service. Well done. Tom.

The food on offer in The Helm is some of the best I have had in Ireland. Great quality and quantity. A great selection of fresh and outrageously flavoursome fish and the best steak I can remember eating! Only advice I would give is to book early and make sure you are hungry. Leave room for the adult size jelly and ice cream a perfect end to a perfect dinner which highlights quality Irish cuisine at it's finest.

When ever I am close to Westport, I try and have lunch at The Helm. It is one of the most wonderful settings in Ireland, with Croagh Patrick and Clew Bay as a background. The food is always fresh, well presented and good value. The fish is excellent. You never come away feeling that you have not got good value. I usually go for a short walk by the Quay to sample the fresh Atlantic air.
